As we celebrate the holidays, we often are caught up in so much "doing". As the days and weeks go by it's easy for us to be rushed, hurried, and cramming so many things into our schedules. Add in culture, marketing, and even well-intentioned friends and family members, and we can easily become distracted from the essence of Christmas.
HERE’S WHY WE CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS…
But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. (Galatians 4:4-5)
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. (John 3:16-17)
God became man. He came to us to relate to us, to rescue us, and to redeem. It's only when we understand this intentional act of love that we can even begin to enjoy this season. And from this grace of knowing that we are loved, that we in turn love God and love others.
Every year we come together and sacrificially give to others out of the overflow of God's love and blessings to us. This year is no different, and we want to make a difference in the lives of some very special people here in our community; as well as, some young women in Kenya.
Onelife Community Church has been chosen to host Tim Tebow's Night to Shine! This is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older. On one night, February 8th, 2019, Onelife will be one of over 500 churches from around the world to host Night to Shine for approximately 90,000 honored guests through the support of 175,000 volunteers! Onelife will be hosting over 150 "honored guests", as well as over 200 volunteers. This event is completely FREE to all participants, and our desire is that these guests have a night that they will never forget.
It has come to our attention in recent months through one of our members that there continues to be young girls who are suffering through FGM (Female Genitalia Mutilation) and being sold into FEM (Forced Early Marriage) in Kenya. Both of these practices seem appalling to us, but are practices that are deeply embedded in the culture of numerous tribes in Kenya. Kenyan Schools of Hope began a rescue center and there are now 18 girls in their care. A school has also been built next to the rescue center and all of these girls will begin school at this facility in January. There are still a few aspects of the school that need to be finished, and Onelife would like to help Kenyan Schools of Hope continue in its mission to rescue, educate, and give hope to these girls.
Here are a few videos related to Advent Conspiracy and who we will be impacting.

Our goal as a church body is to sacrificially give $15,000 above and beyond our regular giving to impact lives through Night To Shine and Kenyan Schools of Hope. I pray that we continue to remember the love God has poured out on us, and I believe that we can and will
Worship Fully, Spend Less, Give More, and Love All this Christmas.
